**********

I feel the great urge to make a confession
For the past nine years I've had a weekly obsession

I can remember exactly when I first felt the hook
One dose of Mulder & Scully was all it took

What was it about them that made me a Phile?
Scully's rationalism and Mulder's quirky style

The dynamic between them was so wonderfully unique
And, uh, I was also very fond of Duchovny's physique

The stories themselves ran the gamut from horror to humor
With a splash of angst and one nasty Cancerous tumor

Mulder's memories of his sister were sometimes painful to see
But they did form the basis of what his quest came to be

His search for the Truth and the battles he raged
Were gut-wrenchingly acted and wonderfully staged

And Scully's facing of an illness of which science held no cure
Is still a powerful display of her sheer courage to endure

In one hour they could make you cry, shriek, or smile
With images that would stay with you for quite a long while

The addition of characters like Krycek, CSM, and Skinner
Turned Sunday nights for me into an enjoyable winner

I will admit that not every episode exactly held me in thrall
But now that it's over I have affection for them all

And from this addiction I know I’ll never truly escape
It may no longer be live, but it's most assuredly on tape
